Feeding Cove Barrier – Substrate Retention Wall
Creates a bare-bottom feeding area inside a substrate tank.
Buries into the substrate to hold soil and gravel back — creating a clean bare-bottom cove where food stays visible and easy to remove.
Made in the USA from aquarium-safe materials — available in three colors and sized to fit most standard aquarium layouts at 5.25 inches long.

Press the flat outer foot into the substrate along the front or side of the tank and it holds in place with soil and gravel packed against the back while the inner cove stays completely clear. The result is a small defined area of bare tank floor where food lands, stays visible, and can be removed cleanly without digging through substrate or losing track of how much was eaten. At 5.25 inches total length with a 4 inch wide internal cove and a 0.75 inch wall height it sits low enough to stay out of the visual field of the tank while still doing its job. Shrimp, snails, and plecos find it quickly and will begin congregating in the cove at feeding time once the routine is established. Available in three color options to blend with different substrate and hardscape combinations.
Uneaten food in a substrate tank is one of the most persistent water quality problems in shrimp and invertebrate keeping. Food dropped directly onto gravel or soil works its way down between the particles quickly, where it breaks down out of sight and drives ammonia and nitrite levels up before the keeper realizes anything uneaten was left behind. A defined bare-bottom feeding zone solves this completely — food stays on the surface of the cove floor where you can see it, your bottom dwellers can access it easily from all angles, and anything left over after feeding can be removed with a turkey baster or small siphon in seconds without disturbing the rest of the tank.
Made in the USA from durable aquarium-safe materials. Rinse before placing in the tank. Bury the flat outer foot into the substrate and pack the material back around it to hold it in position. Compatible with soil, gravel, sand, and all standard planted tank substrates. Safe for shrimp, snails, plecos, and all freshwater bottom-dwelling species.
A great idea for the Aquarium! This small retentionwall is perfectfor creating a feeding zone for shrimp and bottom dwelling fish. This helps to keep the tank clean and in turn contributes to safer water quality. This can also be used in a live planted tank to help create a nice sloping effect with the plants. It is made of pretty sturdy material and will not break easily.
Nice little area for my shrimp and fish to eat in peace when the water is flowing hard.
